IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN GEOMETRY AND DRAWING AS THE BASIS FOR FORMING SKILLS IN GRAPHICAL MODELING OF STEREOMETRIC OBJECTS IN SCHOOL

Abstract

The necessity of aligning the courses of stereometry and drawing in the education of X grade students in the Republic of Belarus is substantiated. This need arises from the shift in the curriculum, moving the study of the drafting course from the IX grade to a year later. The methodical problems associated with this shift and their causes are described. The main cause is the need to use drawing requirements from the first lessons of stereometry, long before they are introduced in drawing. The requirements for the depiction of lines on a drawing and the general requirements for a drawing of a stereometric object, typical for geometry, are updated. The inadmissibility of ignoring these requirements is emphasized. The teaching techniques are revealed and examples of tasks that ensure the implementation of the connections between geometry and drawing are provided. Among these are: the creation and use of an album of sample images of prisms and pyramids; the creation of image algorithms for different bodies; systematic analysis of images from various print publications and the Internet; conducting diagnostic works on recognizing bodies by horizontal and frontal projections. The implementation of these techniques contributes to the development of critical thinking in students, the formation of their constructive skills and spatial imagination.
